IOSH Managing Safely

Managing Safely is a course for managers and supervisors in any sector and any organisation. It's designed to give managers all they need to know to help them handle health and safety in their teams. The flexible new high impact programme covers all the main health and safety issues, and includes a session tackling the environment too. The course lasts for 24 hours in total. Managing Safely can be delivered over a full week or on single days or as an evening course and has eight modules:

Introducing Managing Safely
Assessing risks
Controlling risks
Understanding your responsibilities
Identifying hazards
Investigating accidents and incidents
Measuring performance
Protecting our environment

The course is delivered in 4 days either in house or externally. A certificate is awarded to successful candidates who pass both the written test and assessment.

IOSH Working Safely


Working Safely is a one-day course for staff from any sector with no supervisory or managerial responsibility. It provides a grounding in the essentials of health and safety - everyone at work should have an understanding of why they must 'work safely' and this course offers exactly that. Working Safely introduces a completely new approach to health and safety training and offers all the basics in a high impact interactive package:

Module 1 - Introducing working safely
Module 2 - Defining hazard and risk
Module 3 - Identifying common hazards
Module 4 - Improving safety performance
Module 5 - Protecting our environment

The course is delivered in 1 day either in house or externally. A certificate or passport (see below) is awarded to successful candidates who pass both the written test and assessment.

CIEH (New) Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace

Health and safety understanding for all employees

Overview
The CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace replaces the Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace. The qualification can be tailored to business and individual needs to make the learning experience relevant and fit for purpose. Why has the foundation certificate in Health and Safety changed?

CIEH Foundation Certificate in Stress Awareness


Stress is increasingly a factor in the loss of working days and reduction in employee effectiveness. The CIEH has recognised the importance of understanding stress and the guidance required to manage employees effectively to minimise risk. This qualification seeks to advise and guide those interested in protecting themselves and their workforce from the damaging effects of stress. This is a stand-alone Level 1 qualification complementing the CIEH Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety in the Workplace.


Who needs this qualification?

Appropriate for all employees - especially those dealing with the public, working to targets or deadlines, providing services, training, supervising or managing.

Subjects Covered

Definitions of stress
Stress as an occupational health hazard
Identification of basic workplace stressors

Development of basic controls for work-related stressors
Responsibilities imposed under UK legislation

Outcomes

On completing this qualification candidates will be able to:

Identify likely sources of work-related stress
